Sleepless Baby

Ava decided last week that she didn’t want to sleep in her crib anymore. Every time she is getting tired I give her bottle and rock her to sleep and it always works, then I out her in her crib. The past week I will rock her and go to put her in her crib and she wakes up crying, of course. So I had to start rocking her to sleep and then putting her in my bed to go to sleep. This is annoying in so many ways by the way. For how little Ava is she thinks she needs to take up the whole bed and lay the opposite way your suppose too. I don’t get much sleep between her feet in my face and her rolling around so much. I needed to find a way to get her sleep in her crib again. I went online and the internet said to find her a “security” toy or blanket or something that will comfort her. It also said I should lay with her toy or her sheets so it has my scent. Baby’s have a strong scenes of smell so the moms scent comforts them also. I haven’t tried these tips yet because I just found them yesterday. Tonight I’m going to sleep with one of Ava’s animals so It smells like me and let her sleep with it tomorrow to see if it helps with her sleeping in her crib better. I hope it works because going to school and working everyday is really tough especially when my baby doesn’t let me sleep at night.

I think another reason why Ava isn’t sleep in her crib is because she’s teething really badly. I can’t imagine how bad it must be to get all your teeth in. My grandma told me one time she got a tooth in when she was old and it hurt really bad and she cried, so for babies to go through it I understand why they are so crabby. I feel so bad for them. I try to help Ava by giving her Tylenol when needed at night and giving her teething toys. She likes the little rings that you put in the freezer. Every time I give her a cold teething toy, her eyes get really big and she drools everywhere. Between Ava teething and being spoiled and not wanting to sleep in her crib I feel like I’m going to have a hard time getting her in her crib asleep. Any ideas would be nice as well as new tips :)

Learning How To Crawl

The last couple of weeks Ava has been learning how to crawl, or the initial steps on how to learn to crawl. I have friends that have babies around the same age as Ava and they are starting to crawl or doing the steps to crawling. The steps of crawling I mean, starting to get on their hands and knees and rocking back and forth, or crawling backwards. Ava didn’t do any of that, so one day I put her on her knees and put her arms out so she could get in to stance. Ever since that day (Which was about a week and a half ago) she now gets on all fours and rocks back and forth. She hasn’t crawled forward or backward yet just that little rock. I have a feeling she is going to start to crawl soon though. Every day she gets better and better about picking herself up and going into that “on all fours” stance. Two nights ago Ava wakes up next to me and I’m still half sleeping, all of a sudden I feel something hitting my back multiple times. Its Ava on all fours rocking back and forth hitting her head on my back. I look at her and she just smiles and plops back down to her belly.  When she wakes up in the morning or from her nap I will look on the baby monitor and she’s rocking back and forth trying so hard to crawl but just ends up on her belly. It’s such a bitter sweet experience.  I of course want her to grow up, but she’s growing so fast. First she’s going to learn to crawl and then she is going to be running around talking back to me. Why can’t she stay little forever. Just kidding I want to watch and see how big she gets and see all the new and exciting things she does in the near future. I have faith she will be crawling soon just because she already has made a lot of progress compared to what she was doing before this.

Why I chose to write about " My Daughter Ava"

I am choosing to write about “My Daughter Ava”.  I am choosing to write about Ava because there is nothing in this world I would rather be talking about, and everything she does and will do is always changing. There is always something going on exciting and funny with Ava. There is just so much I can talk about, and not only talk about but want to talk about.  I can start off talking about when I had her and how the changes were to me, and how I quickly adapted to the new changes, or right now when she starting to learn to crawl.
I can even talk about how she learned her voice in the past month and now screams such a high pitch scream, just to hear her voice and then laughs at herself. Everything about Ava to me is so exciting and that’s why I picked this topic. I think people are going to read this but enjoy reading this too, because almost everyone goes through having a baby and almost everybody likes babies so to read weekly about interesting things and new things Ava does seems enjoyable.
I had Ava on March 19, 2013. She is going to be 6 months old on Thursday. I feel like these past 6 months have FLOWN by.  It seems like just the other day I was taking my 7 pound 1 ounce baby home with me. Watching Ava grow these 6 months are amazing to me. Watching the things she picks up, like learning to crawl, or learning that she has a voice and screams super loud now. Or the concept of eating with a spoon, which she has not mastered yet not even close too either.
Every month I see Ava learn new things and it absolutely amazes me. I see the progress she makes and it makes me sad and excited at the same time. Sad because my little baby is growing up so fast in front of my eyes, and excited because I get to watch Ava grow up and teach her things and watch her become the person she will be 20, 30 and 40 years from now. My daughter is growing up so quickly. Everybody use to tell me to enjoy it while it lasts, and time fly’s by when you have kids, or time flys when you’re having fun. It’s all true and you never notice how fast time is going by or how you will never have that same day again. Every week I will be writing about Ava and all the things she does or my experiences I had with her that week.
